Implementation cases

The aim is to improve accessibility by public transport and non-motorised transport modes in Harju and Rapla counties, focusing on Tallinn-Rapla railway corridor. Reduced car dependency, energy consumption and GHG emissions is highly relevant to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The implementation case consists of several activities by project partners. Harju Public Transport Centre creates a public transport network model based on the railway. Harju and Rapla county governments prepare county thematic plans for non-motorised traffic – network along which people can also access railway stations by cycling or walking. Local governments (e.g. Saku municipality) will develop practical examples of transport hubs for different types of settlements – combining railway station and cycle paths.
